Hello, we would first like to take this opportunity to thank you personally and
commend you for your decision to become a knowledgeable consumer in the
used car market.

This book is easy reading and should not take long to go  through it and learn
the valuable lessons that we are teaching you.

Your next step would be to go out and find a good deal on a used car (using
some of the many special places we tell you to look.) Learn the car’s value, and
inspect it thoroughly.(We teach you how to come up with the car's value, and do
a thorough pre-purchase inspection on it) If all seems well you would then work
on negotiating the best deal. We will be dealing with these subjects in the
coming chapters.

We have made this book simple, easy to understand and written so that
anybody can put it to use. Also to make things simple, we have included our own
exclusive checklists to save you time, and to make sure you don’t miss anything.

Far too many times, almost daily a nice customer comes into our repair shop
after just purchasing a used car. The car has serious problems. They tell us that
the seller seemed nice or honest…but the car is not worth its weight in scrap
metal. The bottom line is that the customer got ripped off. Sometimes they get
their money back but most of the time they don’t. These amounts can range from
$600-$12000+.

The next used car they consider buying always comes in to us to be checked
out thoroughly before they buy it. Well now they don’t have to because we have
compiled this book. It is written for them, and it is written for you.

THE SMART SHOPPERS GUIDE
TO
BUYING AND INSPECTING
A  USED CAR!
Hello, my name is Mark Garry, and our companies Mechanix on Wheels, The
Shoppe, and Cars auto repair have been in business for over 15 years.

We have worked on all aspects of auto repair and bodywork and we have
repaired cars from a 1903 Oldsmobile to 2006 busses. From Hyundai to
Porsche, Chevy to Toyota, boats to hybrid cars and everything in between.
We feel that our extensive line of professional master certified ASE technicians
combined with all of our years of experience and customer satisfaction qualifies
as an authority on the subject matter

We know what we teach and have done over 5000 pre-purchase inspections.
So we feel that we can teach you or anyone within a couple of days how to
become a smart, astute buyer when it comes to buying a used car. Whether for
your own vehicle, your children, or as a buyer for a car lot.

You have made an excellent decision in purchasing Lemoncatcher’s- The
smart shoppers guide to buying and inspecting a used car, an investment in your
knowledge if you will. This purchase will help avoid your being taken advantage
of when buying a used car.

I will relate an incident to give a perfect example. We have repaired many
vehicles that should not have been purchased in the first place. A lady named Jill
(not her real name) bought a 2001 Hyundai Excel with 56,000 miles on it for
$2400. Not a bad deal on the outside, 120 miles later the engine was blown and
would have to be replaced, or rebuilt. Now the car has almost $6000 into it.
Retail value for the car was $3200. Not a good decision.

We want to teach you to be a smart used car buyer so you will not get raked
over the coals!!!!!
